The resources below are Polish, because that is where this product is built and where its readers mostly are. If you are elsewhere, your national crisis line is the equivalent of the first number on this list.
Call, if things are bad right now
- 116 123
Crisis helpline — 24 hours, free
- 800 702 222
Support Centre for people in crisis — 24 hours, free
- 801 889 880
Behavioural addictions helpline — daily, 17:00–22:00
- 511 200 200
Suicide crisis line — 24 hours
116 123, 800 702 222 and 511 200 200 answer around the clock and are free. 801 889 880 is the line for behavioural addictions and answers daily between 17:00 and 22:00[1].
You do not need a reason serious enough to qualify. You do not need to be able to name the problem. These are places set up precisely for the conversation that opens with "I am not sure I have called the right number".
A conversation about the drive itself, not a crisis
The national directory lists one line with a sexologist on duty: 22 484 88 01, Wednesdays 15:00–20:00[1]. That is unusual — most helplines have no such slot.
The public health route
There is one thing here many people do not know, and it saves weeks:
A psychiatrist needs no referral. The official list of specialists reachable without one covers psychiatry, gynaecology and obstetrics, oncology, venereology, dentistry and sports medicine. A psychologist also takes patients without a referral[2].
You can register at any facility contracted by the national health fund, including outside your own area.
A sexologist is not on that list, so a sexology clinic will usually want a referral. A family doctor can write one — or the psychiatrist you can already see without one.
Fellowships
SLAA (Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous) — slaa.pl in Poland. Meetings in
larger cities and online.
Sexaholics Anonymous — sa.org.pl. A twelve-step fellowship.
Both work like other twelve-step fellowships: no fee, no registration, no surname. It does not suit everybody and nobody has to stay — but the first time costs nothing.
A Polish research app
Nałogometr — nalogometr.pl. A free app from the Institute of Psychology of
the Polish Academy of Sciences, which monitors pornography use and compulsive
sexual behaviour among other things. It is not a commercial product and it is not
competition for anything — it is a research instrument with a scientific team
behind it.
What is not here
There is no list of "best apps", because a review of 23 of them found that none referenced literature providing direct evidence of its own efficacy or safety[4] — including the one you are reading this in.
Nor are there numbers we did not check on the day of publication. All of the above were compared against the directory maintained by Poland's National Centre for Addiction Prevention on 2 August 2026.
